Juliane

Hi, my name is Juliane and I am an Object Conservator broadly specialising in Social History Objects and Ceramics but I also have an interest in Modern Materials such as Plastics. Along with undertaking interventive treatments I am also a Consultant in Preventive Conservation and a Museum Mentor to the Royal Naval Patrol Museum in Lowestoft.

Following Science and Art based A-Levels I trained at Cardiff University, completing a BSc (Hons) in The Conservation of Objects in Museums and Archaeology in 2004. The course encompassed both theory and practical training ensuring I have a good understanding of material science and developed essential skills such as colour matching and ethical decision making.

I started my career in Conservation at the Imperial War Museum in London and made the decision to become Freelance and start my own business in 2008. I have worked on small and large projects throughout the country and also internationally for clients including :-

 Small Independent Museums

 National Museums

 Countywide Museum Services

 Private Individuals

I thoroughly enjoy my job and the variety it brings from working with a wide range of people and objects, be it whole collections or single family heirlooms.
